Chester Zoo Rhinos

I beleive that they have 6 but no info on names at Chester. I could even be wrong with 6 but I am sure thats what a keeper told me over Christmas time...
 
Magadi (m) born 1998/1999 not sure where though. Father of Bashira (f)

Sammy (m) born 1998/1999 in Japan. Father of Asani (m)

Ema (f) born 2002 at Dvur Kralove Czech Republic. Came to Chester in 2005. Mother to Bashira (f)

Malindi (f) born November 2005 at Maderburg Zoo Germany. Came to Chester in September 2008.

Kitani (f) born 1997/1998 at Chester. Mother to Asani.

Rosie (f) born 1988 at London Zoo.

Manyara (f) Born 1997/1998 at Chester. Has yet to breed. Half sister to Kitani

Bashira (f) born 15/5/09 at Chester

Asani (m) born 29/10/08 at Chester

Manyara was born shortly before Kitani because when Asani was born it was widely noted that the gap between births was such that the mother of the new calf was the last calf to be born at Chester previously (Kitani).

And then, of course, there was another birth just a little over 6 months later, in typical London-bus style.

Correct.

'Manyara' is Quinto x Esther(deceased).

'Kitani' is Quinto x Pangani(deceased).

'Rosie' was born at London Zoo, though her parents Bwana Mkubwa & Mama Kidogo had previously lived, and bred several times, at Whipsnade.
 
Yes, Quinto is father to the pair of them. He moved to P.L as there was no viable females he could breed with, and was incompatable with Rosie.
