BioParque do Rio RioZoo news

Do I get this: Two female (pure-bred) Sumatran orang and one gets send to another zoo?
What is the point in that?
Yeah, I also don't get it. The only possibility I'm thinking would be that one of them was sent to Beto Carrero just to wait while her exhibit is renovated in Rio. It happened with the zoo's chimps, so I hope it's actually the case.

BTW: A large part of this thread is no longer about RioZoo News! Would it not be more useful to have the discourse penned into a new thread on the general state of affairs in Brasilian zoos and let this thread first and foremost for RioZoo news?
Yeah, it would be good to transport this to the "conservation in latin america" thread or something.

Let's create a thread for the Rio de Janeiro zoo itself. On this new thread, we can discuss about the animals kept there, including the ones which are not kept anymore, like hook-lipped rhinos and some other stuff like that.
