Afternoon, today I made a small trip to Rodbaston Animal Zone, which is literally a couple of miles off the M6 along the A5 and very easy to get to.
It is not a large collection by any means, but it is an enjoyable one.

The collection has quite a collection of birds which is nice to see, as well as an off-show rodents room mainly consisting of hamsters, rats, mice and jirds.

They have recently received two Squirrel Monkeys who are having a new exhibit built for them, so they are currently quarantining in an inside exhibit by the Cotton Top Tamarins, whilst their outside exhibit is being finished.

It was also nice to see four species of Lemurs held, of which 3 were in a walkthrough and a delightful nocturnal house, which houses a breeding pair of Pygmy Slow Loris, Sugar Gliders, a pair of Kinkajou and a Asian Palm Civet.

Paddocks mainly consist of domestics, although they do have two Capybara. The zoo has also recently received 5 Prairie Dogs who are currently off-show in quarantine in the keeper area, whilst their exhibit is completed.

Red-Billed Blue Magpie are on eggs, to go with the two exhibits including offspring from last year.

They also have two Asian Small-Clawed Otters.

I had an enjoyable day there and it’s a nice little collection that’s worth a visit, without holding anything too exciting.
