Sable Antelope

I am trying to work out which subspecies of Sable Antelope is present in New Zealand, and as our sables came from Toronto Zoo (first in 1990), I was wondering if anyone here knows what subspecies (if any) are held at Toronto Zoo, or in North America generally?

European zoos exclusively hold the southern, nominate subspecies, so if anyone knows that the animals mostly came from there, that would also be useful.

Thanks in advance.

The wilds has sable antelopes. it says there from southern & eastern africa. my guess is that toronto zoos would be the same cause this institution seems to be linked to the toronto zoo cause thats were the dholes came from and some of there indian rhinos.

Toronto hasn't specified in their report to ISIS which subspecies they have. From what I can tell, H. n. niger is by a long stretch the most commonly reported; the only zoos that report having H. n. kirkii are in San Diego and the U.A.E. No other subspecies are reported to ISIS.
