Novosibirsk Zoo saguinus in Novosibirsk

Hi everyone,

I saw on ISIS Novosibirsk Zoo has a large group of saddle-back tamarins.
I am in charge of the Monitoring for this species by the EAZA and I would be highly interested in having pictures of these animals in order to be able to identify them to the sub-species level.

I am sendind this message as communication with Russian Zoos (except St Peterburg) is not so easy.

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Hi I have sent you a private message with conact details for a very helpful college who works there if you need more info! :)

thank you so much this is much helpfull.

these animals are Saguinus fuscicollis leucogenys.
two other european zoos currently exhibit this subspecies : Moscow and Bratislava.

this is great news for me and the european population.

thank you so much for your help.

hi,
thanks for all this pictures as these are new animals for my monitoring.

Minsk : leucogenys
Chelvabinsk : leucogenys
regarding Ekaterinburg I think this is leucogenys also but I still have to check, this is not so obvious.

thanks again

Another Saguinus-species entered the collection : from Zoo Magdeburg - Germany - a pair of Red-bellied tamarins was recieved.
