San Diego Zoo San Diego Zoo Map, 1934 edition

IF anybody is interested in what the San Diego Zoo looked like 80 years ago I found this 1934 map while surfing the net.

Interesting features are that the monkey and bird exhibits appear to be the same ones that existed until the 21st century when Monkey Trails was built.

The zoo doesn't seem to have any giraffes, apes, rhinos, or hippos. There is a large hoofstock collection, but not specified in the map legend what species were there.
 
Visitors must have flocked to see the wonders of the Implement House....

Supposedly there were lines miles long to see it, and only the lines to see baby giant pandas are comparable to it in zoo history.

The highlights of the exhibit were the New Caledonian hacksaw and the collection of rare hammers from Peru.
