From an episode of "The Zoo: San Diego", the goats that lived in children's Zoo area have been moved to the Safari Park while it's being under construction and an interesting fact the Animal-care supervisor and spokesman, Rick Schwartz started his job as a part-time zookeeper in the Children's Zoo area in 2000.

Jim Breheny, head of the Bronx Zoo, also started his career as a 14-year-old in the Bronx Children's Zoo.

I'm so bummed. I was counting on using it to start our day at the back of the zoo.
Yes it was a great way to get from front to back - too bad it will be closed. Thankfully the new massive bridge over the canyon makes it easier now to walk from front to back.

This is the year, that a newly renovated Komodo Dragon exhibit and the hummingbird Aviary will be reopened, any progress on these exhibits?

The access to the aviaries behind Polar Bears (sometimes referred to as “Hidden Aviaries” or “AGA Aviaries”) has been blocked. The public can no longer visit them. It’s where the Maleos and the Tongan Scrubfowl, among other birds, are housed. I know this was a popular destination for visitors wanting to see some of these rare species, so please don’t shoot the messenger!

There are three Golden Takins now on exhibit where the Sichuan Takin used to be (who I’m told are now being housed off exhibit). Also, a new Schmidt’s Red Tailed Monkey was born this week to parents Nema and Rocky. The baby can be seen along Monkey Trails in an exhibit shared with the Mandrill family. Naphisa a female Snow Leopard transferred from Stone Zoo in New England is out of quarantine and on exhibit in the Asian Cats exhibit.

Maybe perhaps the Sichuan Takin will move to the Safari Park whether in a separate exhibit by the Asian plains or in the exhibit with the Bactrian Camel and Przewalski's Wild Horse.

Well now I really regret not being able to find those aviaries when I was able to visit last... :(

The Golden Takin have been present for at least a little while. Mishmi Takin are also present behind the scenes. This makes San Diego the only zoo apart from Tierpark Berlin to house three Takin subspecies, though obviously only one is exhibited.

Does Denver have Mishmi?
