San fransisco pond poisoning.

Has any one in the San Fransisco area heard of an amnesty pond to be built in or near Four acre mountain lake,in mountain lake park? Apparently the original lake has been poisoned to kill all non native fish, and will be restocked next spring. with native species including three-spined sticklebacks, chorus frogs and western turtles.
I assume the poisoning would have killed everything in the four acre lake, so I wondered if they had removed as many natives as possible first? A

new amnesty pond is to be built near by for people to dump unwanted fish in.

I heard about this on the news a while back, almost all the fish in the lake are invasive, so restocking the lake with native species will be a bigger draw to wildlife. As long as no more goldfish are let loose in the lake again, the habitat should restore and be healthier. The problem is that the public doesn't realized that releasing pets is not good.
