Two wombats are scheduled to arrive from Tasmania within this year, though the exact timing is yet to be confirmed. This zoo is one of only two facilities in Japan that house wombats and is likely the only one in Asia keeping Tasmanian wombats. It is also home to "Wain," a 36-year-old male wombat, who is the oldest known in the world.
