Scientists aboard the Schmidt Ocean Institute's research vessel Falkor found the detached reef off the coast of Cape York in Australia. The base of the reef is 1.5km wide, with the reef going up 500m to its shallowest point, 40m under the surface. The coral reef reveal was streamed live on YouTube.
