Could it have just been Aquavits?

Fish fed in captivity needs to be supplemented because of the effect of thiaminase (inhibits Vitamin B uptake). Sea lions at Whipsnade get two of these tablets a day.

Some collections also give salt tablet supplements to their sea lions, Whipsnade do not need to because their sea lions are kept in salt water.
 
might sound like an obvious question but did you try asking a keeper? I presume that was who told you she was on tablets
