SeaQuest Roseville (located in Roseville, Minnesota) closed permanently on February 18th, 2025, after a year-long investigation by multiple news outlets and animal rights activists, a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in December 2024, and a petition to the court to sell the company for $80K in late January 2025 that was later abandoned.
Animals were still inside the building for several weeks as a plan was formed between several AZA facilities (including the Lake Superior Zoo and the Minnesota Zoo in Minnesota) to rescue and rehome most, if not all, of the animals still on-site.
