Senators introduce bill to keep the Snake River Dams

There has been lots of activism and outcry in favor of breaching the lower four Snake River Dams. Senators Jim Risch from Idaho and Steve Daines from Montana claim that it is unnecessary and unwarranted, and are introducing a bill to protect the dams. They cite a scientific process stating that breaching the dams will not benefit conservation. Wanted to hear the thoughts of fellow ZooChatters on this. I am currently neutral on the situation.

PS. Let's try not to politicize this too much.
 
As a general rule I don't really like dams as they cause ecological harm, but at the same time I know there are exceptions, so I don't know in this specific case. Definitely interesting.
I am the same. I am a bit skeptical but don't have the credentials to say what is and isn't necessary.
