Shape-See (Shape Enrichment – South Eastern Europe) was formed almost 12 months ago in an effort to bring enrichment information to zoological establishments in Romania and surrounding Countries.

However! due to various reasons it did not take off as it would have seen to be initially with the number of zoo personal showing interest.

So very shortly the group will be re-launched in an effort to get Environmental Enrichment out to the people who are dedicated to the welfare of their collections.

Although it was mainly established for South Eastern Europe there are inquiries from as far away as Brasil and the UK. If you would like to be part of this please register via shape-see on Yahoo Groups.

I may take you up on the offer - even though - technically I am not working in a zoo environment.

I have always thought it rather unjust to just criticise sub-standard zoos (from the arm-chair). It is much better to go on the long hard road to improvement.

The Romanian Zoo project certainly deserves all the attention it can muster. :)
