Thanks for your post ,an array of birds ,Koalas ,Roos ,quolls ,bandicoots etc etc .I have a list of them .I know im being lazy ,happy to pay though .Tks Tony

This could be made very interesting!

Tony what format are your signs at the momment?

Millions of doallars and 1,000's of hours have been spent on signage.

My point is l wonder if we should start a zoo signage thread. To find you the best signage?

My reason exactly .One could spend 1000s of wasted hours and not get the right content ,or only one persons interpretation of things..A central sign format and content will have us all reading on the same page .

Tony, l trust that you will understand my intent in the following.

Has anyone here on zoochat met Tony of Peel Zoo. Who will vouch for this man?

I only ask given the quantity of people who have been misrepresented on the internet.

As l said Tony please take this the way it is intended. I ask as since you are one of the few people who own a zoo in Australia. Also with your involvement at Bali Zoo. You are obviously not your average anonymous punter on the net. People are likely to have met you.

I look forward to starting a thread. " Design or present the best zoo signage"

HI Zoo Man ,
I dont blame you wanting to know all about me .I do write on a site Asia Charities Discussion Community they are anti zoo .I met them on my travels while redoing Bali Zoo .I keep to my self and do the job at hand .I have very little association with Zoos here in Austrlia .The few i deal with are just like me ,no need to toot horns or ring bells .Put hand in pocket to save our wild life and create zoos that are animal friendly .Most of my life has been spent in the animal world in South East Asia .
Look forward to meeting any of you .
Tony

Vouching for Tony

Not everyone is anti-zoo on asiadana.com, though i certainly am. These days thanks to Tony's patience, and forum input, i spend some time "sitting on the fence" if you'll pardon the pun.

Some of our forum members have visited Peel Zoo and met Tony. All gave excellent feedback.

In answer to Zooman's question, " Who will vouch for this man?"
Yes i'll definitely vouch for Tony. We've had a lot of contact over the past 18mths, and he's fearlessly honest, has a lot of integrity, and is always helping charities.
I've also visited Peel Zoo. I don't mean to offend anyone here but i spent more time reading the signs than i did on looking at animals. The signs were very important to me because they were my first connection to many animals that i know little about.
All the animals at Peel Zoo are very healthy and i can see a lot of time is put into giving them an environment as close as possible to their native habitat.
Yes, i'll vouch Tony is who he says he is.

Thanks Anada, but who are you?? LOL

Seriously l was hoping that one of our regulars had met him.

He just sounds to good to be true. It is a very sad thing. The loss of trust around people on the net. There have been examples here on zoochat! Of people miss representing themselves.

As Tony has said "I dont blame you wanting to know all about me". As he does seem to live the dream.

BTW why would you think you would offend people by spending allot of time reading the signs? I personally spend allot of time looking at how the animal is contained. Many times only glanceing at the animal. We do all seem to have a thing here!
