I heard a rumor about the Great Ape exhibit. But I think next year their main focus will be on the parking garage and the bison exhibit. Also it seems they are fixing up pathways (by old bear grottoes). Actually, their are minor renovations at the big cats hill. They are redoing the barrier around the exhibit to make it safer for guests. They're working around the biggest exhibit now.

thanks for the info helps a lot and may i ask where you got this information i knew about the bison exhibit but not the rest.

The parking garage information I believe was in an old Zoo newsletter. Plus I see the construction when I go to the zoo. I also have seen the construction around the Big Cats exhibit when I visited last month.

Where did you hear that? I heard it was going to be near the panda exhibit, where their original exhibit was located. But it may make sense where you're talking about. I saw the pathway is blocked off by the old bear grottoes (near prairie dogs). Maybe that's where it's going.

On an E-News letter they sent me it said they'd be on the Olmsted Walk by the prairie dogs. I believe it says it on the website if you go to the page where you can donate to the project.

I believe they're also going to expand the Cheetah Conservation Center a bit afterwards. I'm really liking how the zoo is going from project to project at such a speed.

Two male red ruffed lemurs have joined the female in the small mammal house.

If anyone is interested in the process to see Bao Bao for members week:
  • Stop at the top part of Asia Trails right before the sloth bear exhibit. There is a table where you show your ID and membership card. You are given a Bao Bao sticker that you show to line attendants throughout the line.
  • Make your way down to the panda exhibit, unless you're the woman aimlessly walking behind that was convinced we were lying and tried to turn around after the fishing cat exhibit.
  • The beginning of the line starts across the third panda exhibit where the overlook to the elephant exhibit is located.
  • The group is allowed 20, 40, or 50 people in at a time (depending if a group was sent before you and their size).
  • If the line is short, you get about 10 minutes to see Bao Bao. If it's longer, well good luck. Attendants ask the group to rotate so people first in the front move to the back. However some people think they are above the rule as long as they kneel down in front.
