In other news, The Giant Anteaters left for Little Rock Zoo, and the golden-headed lion tamarins possibly mated (I caught it on film!)

Also, on December 2nd when I was at the Small Mammal House, I could've swore I saw two golden headed lion tamarins making monkey love!

Hopefully they were and something comes out of it. I've seen the tamanduas mating often in the SMH.

I was at the zoo today and can I just say twice in a row have I seen monkey love! First with the golden headed lion tamarins and now with the geoffroys marmosets! Its going to be a year of baby monkeys and (hopefully) tamanduas isn't it?

Also, when I went to the zoo today, I saw that the Geoffroy's Marmosets were mating! (Caught that on film to!)

Every time I visit the water cobras are mating. I have not filmed them.

A volunteer told me during one of my summer visits that the zoo wanted to acquire more tamarins for breeding and I remember reading somewhere (I believe it was one of LA zoos transaction reports or whatever they're called) that the zoo was sent a marmoset (I believe it was only one, might've been a pair) with the intent of breeding. So it wouldn't surprise me to see some marmoset and lion tamarin babies sometime next year.

Were you able to count how many there were? I keep seeing quite a few and it always surprises me, but usually they are still under a log or somewhat in the water and I can't get a completely accurate count.

The two that mate sit right next to the glass; I've never looked for others, I always just assumed they were the only ones.

A Sumatran orangutan named Redd was born to parents Kyle and Batang, the first at the zoo in 25 years.

It was a Bornean Orangutan not a Sumatran,

The two that mate sit right next to the glass; I've never looked for others, I always just assumed they were the only ones.

I've seen at least three, if not four (I've forgotten at this point). Thanks!
