Smoske is een neushoorn die ongeveer 20 jaar geleden in Safaripark de Beekse Bergen werd geboren. Via 8 jaar Burgers' Zoo woont hij inmiddels in ZooParc Beauval in Frankrijk. 'Smoske, de neushoorn die er geen zin in had' is een boek over Smoskes onvoorstelbare reis van Burgers' Zoo naar Frankrijk en alles wat er op weg daar naartoe met hem gebeurt. Met het boek wordt het Wereld Natuur Fonds ondersteund in hun strijd tegen neushoornstroperij.

Ik ben op zoek naar mensen die het boek willen lezen en er in deze thread een recensie over willen schrijven.

Het boek
Eind mei werd het boek ‘Smoske, de neushoorn die er geen zin in had’ gepresenteerd in Burgers’ Zoo. De locatie waarvandaan Smoske 8 jaar geleden vertrok, om vervolgens pas een maand later op zijn bestemming in Frankrijk aan te komen. Op weg naar zijn nieuwe onderkomen ontsnapt de neushoorn bij Parijs en maakt hij een reis door Europa, achterna gezeten door zijn dierenarts, stropers, Peter R. de Vries, meneer en mevrouw Moerman, de ANWB en een Frans-Congolese timmerman die weet wat hij doet. Smoske is niet te stoppen. Zelfs de finale van het WK voetbal zet hij op zijn kop.

Wereldneushoorndag
Over een paar weken, op maandag 22 september, is het wereldneushoorndag. Een goede gelegenheid om met het boek de neushoornproblematiek onder de aandacht te brengen.

Om die reden zouden wij het leuk vinden als er mensen zijn die het boek willen recenseren. Schrijf je voor 22 september in op deze thread of stuur mij een e-mail met 'Zoochat-actie' als onderwerp. Probably because he is appealing to the Dutch members here ;) And perhaps German is too hard for him ;) Writing in German is too hard for me as well, allthough I understand it and speak it quite well.
 
Haha, I'm pretty sure my English is adequate. So is my German and Austrian German. But indeed, the message was directed at the Dutch readers here. Which is also why I posted the message in the 'Netherlands' folder. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone with this or with offering a free book to people who might be interested.
