Zootierliste is listing heythrop as holding snow leopards. Since when? They weren't there during the open weekend last September.

Not everything that is kept at Heythrop is always on-show at an open day! That said many of the species of fish that are listed as being at Heythrop have never been kept at the place either!

Jim Clubb has definately kept at least one Snow Leopard in the past , (possibly two) but that was many years ago, and I don`t believe they were available for the public to see, probably before the open days started in any case. One was a studbook listed animal I know for certain. But why it would be listed in recent times I am not sure, I don`t think he has kept any others since that I know of ?

Looking through my zoo stuff I found the Snow Leopard studbook, Vol 5, by Helsinki Zoo - regarding the Snow Leopard at Heythrop.
The animal I was referring to was a male called "Chatka" who was born at Winnipeg Zoo,Assiniboine 24/04/84, he was imported into the UK by Ravensden Zoo Farm on 17/04/1985 and went to Heythrop (Chipping Norton listed) on 16/11/85. He remained at Heythrop and was still there by the end of December 1986. I still have a feeling there was another, maybe I read it somewhere ? Or maybe not ??
I have no idea where "Chatka" went subsequently or what happened to him after 1986.
