Monarto Safari Park South Asian theme at Monarto

The night Safari idea for Monarto is phenomenal.

It’s never been achieved (afaik) outside of Singapore, and considering how successful the Night Safari is, if Monarto attempt this alongside their already amazing Safari Park; Monarto could be one of the best zoos worldwide. By one of the best I mean one of the top five. The promise this zoo has is incredible.

From personal experience, I can honestly say one of the best things about the Night Safari is how it makes efficient use of time. There’s so much to do in Singapore during the day, it’s great to have something on that level to do of a night time (when you’re not dying from the heat).

Similarly, visitors to South Australia would benefit from having an attraction they’d visit in the evening - while visiting Adelaide Zoo, other areas of Monarto and other attractions during the day. As a relatively unique experience (only Singapore offers such an experience on this scale), it would certainly put Monarto on the map and potentially bring a lot of tourism to SA.

The Night Safari concept was replicated in China and Thailand, but both were not quite successful. The one in Chiang Mai, Thailand now operates in the daytime as well. Some of the regular daytime zoos in Malaysia also operate "night safaris". Disney's Animal Kingdom also does evening safari tours in the summer.

Outside of the tropics, the main impediment to creating a dedicated nocturnal wildlife park is the variation in sunset timings and duration of darkness across the seasons.

Thanks for the insigh @Zooish. I don't anticipate this being a problem for Monarto as the sunset timing variance could be adjusted for biannually and in summers, part of the tour held at dusk when the animals are equally as active.

Monaro would continue to function as a day time attraction primarily, with the night safari component being an added extra and the only dedicated experience of its kind in the region.
