South Africa has a long history with South China Tigers, It all started in 2003 when Save China's Tigers (a London based association) approached Pretoria Zoo to see if they would be able to help in the Conservation of the species thus on 2 September 2003 a pair of 6 month old South China Tigers arrived at Pretoria Zoo, They were housed here until 4 February 2004 when they Moved to Laohu Valley reserve in The Northern Cape, South Africa. Today you can still see them at Laohu Valley Reserve
They are the only South China Tigers outside of Asia
