Chester Zoo South East Asia Aviary

The old Mauritius Kestrel Aviary now has birds in it,at present it has Grey-checked Liocichla,Blue-crowned Laughing Thrush and Collared Grosbeak.

I've been to see this aviary on three occasions and I've not yet spotted a bird.

Interesting. Are there any other bird species planned for this avairy?

So whats happened to the Kestrels?

I think he is offshow, but I was told last year that he will be moved to another collection. I did see something in this aviary last week, I think it was a laughing thrush, I didn't have time to get a good look.

The female Rhinoceros Hornbill which was hatched at Chester is back in her aviary across the path.

Believe the Kestrel has now moved on to another collection in the U.K but don`t know which.

Hope chester get some more birds of prey possibly eagles of some description.
