The Peabody Museum is a natural history museum in New Haven, Connecticut. It was renovated and re-opened in 2024 and includes one small gallery, Living Lab, with live animals in 8 terrariums.
  • Heliconius melpomene (Postman Butterfly)
  • A tank of North American freshwater stream fishes*
  • Anolis chlorocyanus (Hispaniolan green anole)
  • Anolis cybotes (Hispaniolan stout anole)
  • Baculum extradentatum (Walking stick insect)
  • Drymarchon couperi (Eastern indigo snake)
  • Podarchis sicula (Italian wall lizard)
  • A terrarium of Dendrobatidae poison dart frogs*
*specific species were not signed. Unfortunately I'm not very well-versed in these groups so I'm not certain what species were displayed.

The skeleton of London Zoo’s last quagga, which died in 1872, is in the collection of Yale University's Peabody Museum.

As you're a recent visitor to this museum, please do you know if this skeleton is currently on display in the renovated museum?
