Chester Zoo Spectacled Bear

He is still having treatment. The cause of the infection remains unknown, and an opthalmogist has been booked to examine him.

for the first time ever yesterday I caught the bear feeding at Chester. Strolch does not seem troubled by his illness and both he and Loja made sure the coatis were put in their place. The trouble was whilst they were chasing off their enclosure co-habitors the jackdaws swooped down and pinched a lot of fruit.

I havent seen the bears for months now. On my last visit though i got my best view of the coatis in that enclosure ever, around 5 of them were at the front of the enclosure.

Quick up date on Strolch and his eyes, hes ok but the eyes are not hes more or less blind in both eyes at the moment the zoo is awaiting the verdict on what to do from a specialist, its looking like he will have to be operated on to remove the problem.
