Chester Zoo spider monkeys

hi am a student doin a zoology degree at the moment iam doin a report on spider monkeys at the zoo does anbody have some information on how many their is there if so their sex and names and any other useful information about them at the zoo example history

I know that Chester have a breeding group but unsure of the exact number the breeding male is Popyoean(maybe spelt wrong)and Mary who i believe 30-40 years old and has a youngster.

also what arrivals are happening this year (general intrest really) i have heard about painted dogs and giant anteaters any body know where the anteaters will be housed

3.8.1 spider monkeys at Chester. Anteaters arrived last year and are behind the giraffe house. However your chances of seeing them are very slim.

any body know where the anteaters will be housed
A pair of giant anteaters are already at the zoo, in the enclosure next to the pudú. The long-term plan is to create an exhibit somewhere in the region of the rhea paddock.

I read somewhere that northern white-cheeked gibbon might also be added to the collection. * ;)

Regarding your questions about the spider monkeys, have you tried asking one of the primate keepers? If you're recording monkey behaviour actually at the zoo, I'm sure somebody would help you out.

Do you mind telling us at what university you're studying? Chester Zoo has a number of long-standing relationships with those in the area, in which case it might be a better idea to route your question through the Discovery and Learning department rather than sending a muddled E-mail to the general contact address.

* Not to be taken seriously.

ljmu is where iam studying when i was at the zoo the was no zoo keepers around when studyn behaviour i had a rough count of 11 which has been confirmed by a member to be 12
