In the eastern german town of Lübbenau a very special swimming-pool can be found. Seperated by a large window a swimming-pool for human and a swimming-pool for Humboldt pinguins are sithuated next to each other ( see

At the windows the penguins and humans can ( and do ) interact and both seem to be very happy with it. Proof is that the 6 breeding pairs are breeding quite well and last year 8 chicks were raised succesfully. 4 are kept at the swimmingpool itself and 4 were send to another zoo ( if I'm rigth to Berlin Zoo ).
