Review one
Name of location: Longleat Safari Park
Day of visit: Sunday, 8th October 2023
Target species: Brush tailed bettong, Spotted Hyena
The walking Safari isn't huge, but as you first enter through the car park( overflow, just on route to Safari)
You are greeted with the Longhouse, which in the past has held a nocturnal exhibit and a Mantis exhibit, which I can tell people about if they are interested.
Following down the path, there are two abandoned aviaries. Across the path is membership hub and the pizzeria( highly recommend
). The first Animal section is Jungle Kingdom, and it contains: Asian short clawed otter, cape crested porcupine, Binturong, Kirk's dik dik, Arabian Rock hyrax, pancake tortoises, giant anteater, aardvark, meerkat and Patagonian mara.
Next to Jungle Kingdom is guest services and longleat railway, which often offers good views of Animals on the boat trip. Approx. 15 minute journey.

Do you mean to say that the bat walkthrough within the longhouse is now closed? A real shame if it is, as there are very few British zoos with nocturnal walkthroughs, and the atmosphere in that ancient building with bats flying about was quite unique...
Im rather surprised that the wombat was not one of your targets!!

@Kalaw The longhouse did not hold bats, rather Loris, long eared hedgehog, wind spider, brine shrimp, blind cave fish, emperor Scorpion and moon jellies. The batcave was a separate attraction closing in January of 2021.

Interesting - when did it close, because I must have missed it on both my visits (2015 and 2019?
