Pinched penguins p-p-picked up by police

Anybody got any idea where these might be from? The police aren't saying and I can't recall any zoo reporting them missing (through embarrassment and/or wanting to avoid copycats maybe). Twycross is the nearest zoo with Humboldts (and holds them in an enclosure with very low walls) but the plot is thickened by a man from Preston being arrested.

A Guardian report says says they come from a Nottinghamshire zoo but I think they're wrong/misinformed as I can't think of a zoo in that area (at all or that that holds them).

Some come on all you budding Sherlocks, let's hear your best guesses -anyone recognise their identification bands?

Peak Wildlife Park also holds Humboldts and they’re in a “walk-through” type exhibit but as far as I can see it doesn’t mention a Nottinghamshire Zoo just that it was Nottinghamshire Police.

...which states they came from South Lakes...

Ahh, mystery solved -that ties in with the Preston location and I can understand, if true, why they'd not want (more) bad publicity.

I never open Sun links -not because I object to it's stance on pretty much everything (which I do) but because the amount of adverts and related screen slow-down annoy me.

Think the sun is bad, wait until you come across Guardian links.

I find most local news websites to be even worse, and they all seem to be designed by the same web designer who doesn't care about convenience! ;)

Local news sites are often difficult to navigate I'll agree...
