Hello. I am currently planning a trip to Normandy/Brittany and I have enough space to squeeze in a few zoo/aquarium visits. Do you guys have any suggestions in the area? (other than Branfere)

Hello,
There are many parks in the North-western corner of France, with various fauna species : Les Terres de Nataé, Trégomeur and Océanopolis (aquarium) in Brittany, the CERZA and (the more classical) collections of Jurques and Champrépus, plus Biotropica in Normandy...
Don't miss La Boissière du Doré and Planète Sauvage in the neighbouring Loire-Atlantique, where there's also the nice aquarium of Le Croisic!

Branferé is a must in that area. Otherwise I liked Oceanopolis in Brest a lot, but currently half of the aquarium is under development, so then it is not worth the detour.

Otherwise there are a few nice smaller parks like Tregomeur and la Bourbansais in Brittany. It depends a bit how much you want to travel. I spent 2 weeks in western France and visited almost all major zoos and wrote a report here:

Into the unknown: zoos of western France

Thank you so much! The trip is really only in the planning stages right now, so by the time I actually get there Océanopolis will probably have finished renovation.
