Fort Worth Zoo Sun Bears

I visited the zoo this weekend and saw that they no longer had sun bears. Does anyone know where they went? They did have a very despondent-looking sloth bear, which made me very sad. I love sloth bears, but I think sun bears were better for that exhibit, especially with the Malayan tigers next door. (On another note, why did they add white tigers to the collection?!)

"According to the zoo's facebook page, the zoo has acquired a male sloth bear from Fort Worth and it will be exhibited in the old bear exhibit. The zoo will also be getting a female."
Pasted from mstickmanp's Fresno Chaffee Zoo post.

White Tigers have been there as long as I can recall. I think it's just one of those someone had to house them, so ... y'know.

Trowaman, perhaps I just never noticed about the white tigers. Or maybe they were off exhibit all the times I've been in that last 19 years. I just don't remember seeing any white tigers there.

Sun bears, on the other hand, I do remember. Did they die or were the sent to other zoos?

Betsy, when I was there 5 days ago they had a single sloth bear. I looked at the Fresno zoo's Facebook post and the implication was that the Ft Worth zoo sloth bear they received was already on hand. So I guess Ft Worth only has one sloth bear, now. But the exhibit used to hold sun bears.
