Three Javan slow lorises are released on the forest around Mount. Guntur in Garut, West Java. The lorises were previously keep as a pet by an local before being sent to BKSDA and then to the zoo for rehabilitation.

On December 7, an Javan leopard named Purbaya has been released into the Kamojang Valley on the border between the regencies of Bandung and Garut, after a while of rehabilitation in Cikembulan for 14 days.

Previously, Purbaya was found trapped on a snare in Garut on November 22 and later rescued by teams from BKSDA and Taman Satwa Cikembulan. Purbaya was taken to Cikembulan, where it undergo a medical examination prior to release.

Four Javan slow lorises, entrusted by BKSDA to Taman Satwa Cikembulan, has been released to the Kamojang Valley in Garut after five months of rehabilitation. These slow lorises included two males, three years old Wirya and two years old Mikail, and two females, three years old Katty and four years old Rayla.

These primates, once kept as pets, were handovered by their former owner and later entrusted to Taman Satwa Cikembulan to be taken care off.

Three female Javan slow lorises has been released to Mount. Tilu, named Iksan, Moli, and Mocil. One of primate have burnt mark after a electric shock. This was part of BKSDA's animal release program, other animals released by other facilities are silvery gibbon, Javan langur, and crested serpent eagle.

Taman Satwa Cikembulan Garut on Instagram: "Pelepas liaran kukang Jawa sebanyak 3 ekor yang bernama iksan, moli, dan mocil yang merupakan kukang serahan warga melalui BKSDA Jawa Barat yang telah di titip rawatkan di Taman Satwa Cikembulan Garut. Ketiga kukang ini berjenis kelamin betina. Salah satu kukang yang dilepaskan merupakan korban konflik warga dan mengalami luka terbakar karena terkena sengatan listrik, kondisi nya kini telah pulih kembali dan dapat dilepaskan kembali ke alam liar. Acara ini dilaksanakan dalam rangka road to Hari Konservasi Alam Nasional 2023 (HKAN). Pelepas liaran ini merupakan program kerjasama BBKSDA Jawa Barat, dengan lembaga konservasi Pusat Rehabilitasi Satwa Primata Jawa ( The Aspinal Foundation-Ip), Taman Satwa Cikembulan dan Pusat Konservasi Elang Kamojang (PKEK). Semoga dengan adanya kerjasama pelepas liaran ini, satwa liar asli Jawa yang populasinya semakin menurun di alam dapat terlestarikan serta tidak punah di alam nya.
