Does anyone know what's going on in the European area? It seems the deer area and the farm have been completely torn down. The map says that Europe is changing of use and that the animals will move to other areas of the park. I hope they are not building another hotel there...

Edit: Nevermind, I just found the information. A new pirate themed hotel. It's sad to see another part of the zoo gone

Wow. That's just so disappointing. The European zone wasn't anything special, but replacing it with such a crappy replacement is just... Unbelievable. Very sad news for the park.

What a shame... Are you sure the pirate hotel will be located in that area? Hopefully it is done in another area, although thinking about it there is no other place... how disappointing. Maybe they could make a couple of facilities for Iberian lynxes, mongooses, genets, some small European animals.

I don't have an official confirmation, but I can't think of anything else.

The official map says Europe is changing its use: https://benidorm.terranatura.com/en/httpsbenidormterranaturaparkmap/

Construction is going on as can be seen in this video at minute 7:00:

And today it was announced a new hotel (in Spanish):
Benidorm tendrá un nuevo resort de temática pirata junto a Terra Natura

Pirates have always been thieves, rapists, and murderers, but the movies romanticize that lifestyle. "Thank you" Entertainment Industry.
Any new hotel it's a form to waste space and opportunities in Terra Natura, but that "theme idea" it's the worst.

You're right, we are left without a European zone, in other places in the world they build large animal complexes, but this is Spain.
If you do not understand or learn about native wildlife and conservation...., than will you learn or experience some form of connection to the Natural World.

The park went from looking like they wouldn't hold onto the species to two litters in two years! Nice news between a sea of sad ones.

The park also received a Southern screamer (Chauna torquata) from ZooParc de Beauval and is now living alongside their other individual in the American aviary.

Does anyone know if they still have the San Blas jay (Cyanocorax sanblasianus) in the collection??

The last Gaur (a bull) died 3/4 weeks ago according to the staff. They also said there are 2 sloths in the aviary but I couldnt find either.
A shame, they were two beautiful animals. Definitely one of the highlights at the park :(
