On October 13th, the zoo announced they renovated the bald eagle exhibit, adding in new perching, fencing, and netting.

On November 11th, it was reported that the zoo released information about their masterplan, which will increase the facility's footprint from 7 to 15 acres and will be represented by 3 biomes; North America (Guadalupe River), South America (Amazon Basin), and Asia (watersheds of the southeast region). The zoo expects the plan, once started, to be completed in about 10 years.
