On December 12th, the zoo announced that construction was finished and the jaguars were back on exhibit.

On December 27th, the zoo announced that they acquired a (0.1) red wolf named Chicora from the Fort Worth Zoo in Texas which is on exhibit.

On January 12th, 2024, it was reported that the zoo is undergoing renovations for their ocelot and American black bear exhibits as part of their new masterplan. It was also reported that the main focus of the masterplan is mitigation towards flooding.

On October 13th, the zoo announced they renovated the bald eagle exhibit, adding in new perching, fencing, and netting.

On November 11th, it was reported that the zoo released information about their masterplan, which will increase the facility's footprint from 7 to 15 acres and will be represented by 3 biomes; North America (Guadalupe River), South America (Amazon Basin), and Asia (watersheds of the southeast region). The zoo expects the plan, once started, to be completed in about 10 years.
