The best exbith in the Nordic region

I thought up this thread, to see what exbith / house you think is best in the Nordic region. If you saw it in reality in a picture.

My list:

1.Elephanthouse in Copenhagen, Denmark (have only seen in photos)
2. Seal / Penguin exbith Brad depth, Kolmarden Zoo, Sweden
3.Tiger World Kolmarden Zoo, Sweden
4. The big Savannas in Boras Zoo ,Sweden
5.Randers Tropical Zoo, Denmark (I have not seen this Zoo, just photos)


Explanations:

1. Elephant House in Copenhagen, Denmark is my opinion, the Nordic region's best exbith. Via movies and photos, I have an insight into this exbith, which I love, which I hope to visit in 2009.

2.Seal and penguin exbith in Kolmarden Zoo, which I want to call the "World's Best" exbith for seal / penguin because it is so natural

3. Tiger World in Kolmarden Zoo convened by the zoo itself as the "world's best," but I see a little weaknesses of this exbith. Tigers, and Dholerna for that matter, has the good, but I think you could bet more on exbith, more than on the roads and fields around . To some extent it gives a good sense of scope, but it does not fit properly ...

4. Borås Animal Park , Savanna, I would put at the top of the list, but in konkurans ... I think this two mixed exbith (Rhino / Cheetah and Elephant, Zebras, Giraffe, Antelope, Ostrich and more) Is the best Savanna in North europe.

5. Randers. I have long wanted to go out into the world and visit the zoo, and one that I previously would stop at the top of the list, Randers Rainforest, has now ended at 5 spot, if not further down.

Comment! Toddy, you do not think my lists is true, what do you think then? I also think Snow Leopard exbíth in Kolmarden Zoo would fit on the list.

I think that I will just start by commenting on your list, Rillekolmård, and then we will see if Toddy, Jodea and others will join in. I am not prepared to make a Top Five List, yet.

1. The Elephant exhibit in Copenhagen. Oh boy.... this is my "home zoo" and how I have suffered with the poor elephants over the years, no... over the decades! The new exhibit is such an unbelievable improvement, but you will probably also have noticed my critisism as far as the male elephants are concerned. The herd now live a SO much better life then before but, overall, I find the space allocated to the elephants far to small - especially compared to all the new exhibits currently being created in The USA. I think that, ultimately, I am with snowleopard - questioning the very concept of keeping elephants in zoos. At least in urban zoos with limited space, like the one in Copenhagen. But do visit it whenever you have the possibility, there are some brilliant features about this exhibit, after all.

2. The seal and penguine exibit at Kolmården would seem to one of the very best of its kind, indeed. Not only in the Nordic countries but even globally.

3. Tiger World at Kolmården! I have promoted it a lot here at ZooChat! I have nothing but good things to say about it!

4. The savanna at Borås (23 000 square meters with elephants mixed with giraffes, buffalos, antelopes etc) and the adjoining 7000 square meter rhino/cheetah-enclosure? Yes - what can you say about this but ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC? World class - nothing but world class!

5. Randers Rainforest. Can´t compare it to other exhibit of that kind. Have to little experience. Only comparative thing I have seen is Universeum in Gothenburg, Sweden.

And then - yes, as you know - I am partial to the snow leopard exhibit at Kolmården....
