The Best Websites

I've just today been looking at the site for the Isle of Wight zoo and I was surprised by how well done it is, animals stories are discussed, there's a full explanation of enrichment, even for someone not going to the zoo it's an interesting and educational read.
Have a look for yourself
Have you seen any good zoo websites? Or any bad ones? What makes a good website and why do so many fail at this?

It would be good that if someone was persuaded to update the cat profiles then those new profiles could be used on the site. Just sayin' is all.

I take it the profiles are out of date then? I don't know the zoo well enough to say. I was just impressed they had profiles at all.
Compare that with The Deep that has plenty of info on their restaurant but nothing on what animals they keep.
I would agree that IOW would be even more impressive if it was up to date.

Somewhere within the bowels of Zoochat you will find previous debates about websites, if you want some background information.

Its generally agreed that among the better UK ones are Colchester- who are not afraid to announce their bad news as well as the good, and Cotswold Wildlife Park, who list(or used to) all their seasonal births, arrivals and departures in the animal collection.
