Describe the climate in the place where you live,
In my living town of Prilep, R.Macedonia - 600 m above sea level, some features of the climate in general are as follows:
-It is classified as Cfa - humid subtropical according to Koppen climate classification. Otherwise, it can be considered as transitional from Mediterranean to warm continental climate. The summers are dry, sunny and hot, and winters are moderately cold with rains. Autumn is warmer than the short spring. The weather change from the winter (March) to warm weather as in summer is abrupt (May is already as summer month), April is transitional.
-Average high temperature: January 4, February 6, March 11, April 17, May 21, June 26, July 29-30, August 29, September 25, October 19, November 13, December 5 degrees Celsius
-Average daily temperature: January 0.5, February 2, March 6, April 11, May 16, June 20, July 22, August 22, September 17, October 12, November 6, December 2 degrees Celsius
-Average low: January -3, February -2, March 1, April 5, May 9, June 13, July 16, August 14-15, September 12, October 8, November 4, December -1 degrees Celsius
-The hottest period of the year: June 10th to August 20th (at least 15 days with temperature above 35, and 1-3 will exceed 40. Highest recorded temperature 43 deg C; in the whole country, 46.2 deg C).
-The coldest period of the year: December 20th - February 5th (at least one week temperatures will stay below zero, but the lowest recorded temperature -21 deg C). But after such a week, then rarely happens again the same in the same season, and the daily temperatures will always be above 0.
-Driest months: July and August (25 mm precipitation). Yearly precipitation 540 mm (540 liters). Most rainy months: October, November, December, April, May.
-Sunshine hours: 2,500-2,600/ year. The Prilep is considered as one of the sunniest towns in R. Macedonia. It is also one of the places in the country with regularly reaching strong UV index, surpassing 9 in hottest days.
-In spring and summer months, it regularly happens town to be hit by a mass of sandy air from the Sahara dessert (''yellow sky'')
-In winter, regularly rain snow, on average on 2 occassions and the snow cover will stay for a week or two, until completely melt.
-Winds are rare and not very strong.
-Palm trees can't be grown. But tobacco yes, successfully.
-Once on 31th of December, the temperature reached 26 degrees!
-Once the temperature in March was 32!, but also -1 in the end of April
-September is colder than June.
The climate from 20th May to 10th September would be good for most zoo animals originating from subtropical and tropical regions.
