Dallas World Aquarium The Dallas World Aquarium; The Most Underrated Aquarium

This place has to be the most underrated Aquarium in the world. Like, I never see it on any "best aquarium" lists, and I have no idea why.

And we, going off your post, have no idea why you think it deserves to be there! I'd be interested to hear your reasoning given: 1. its somewhat questionable 'aquarium' status and 2. the multitude of criticisms against it for its exhibit quality.

I wouldnt say DWA is an underrated aquarium because there's really not any comparision. "Rated" aquarium like Shedd or MBA is as different to DWA as to San Diego Zoo.

This, mostly.

Dallas World Aquarium, though it has its share of controversy, receives a lot of attention on the forum and many of the Americans here have done a visit at least once... so it's definitely on people's radar. Though it's called an "aquarium", it's not a great description of it as a facility; it's more of an indoor rainforest/aquarium hybrid, and even then leans more towards the first.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts given that... do you think it should be on the best *because* of its non-aquarium sections, or do you specifically think the aquarium tanks are that great?

Because it's not really an aquarium. It started as one, but at this point only a fraction of the place is. If it was *only* the aquarium parts, it would rank pretty highly but not top tier, I think. When you add in all of the rest, though, it's more like a zoo that also has a full aquarium (like Omaha, Pittsburgh, etc.).
