Hey guys been meaning to post this for a while now, I have this amazing book I got two years ago called Great Tuskers of africa stores info of heaps of amazing bulls in Kruger and other places with a huge pair of tusks.
The Magnificent Seven are considered the most famous tuskers around the world. Though all dead they still have a legend after then. They are:
Dzombo- the great bull with classic Kruger tusks who was unfortunatly shot by poachers.
Joao- tusker with the heavist pair of the seven, est. at 130kg combined. Though his body was never recovered and neither of any broken bits of tusks. Large bull with height of 340cm.
Kambaku- meaning "old elephant bull" in Tsonga. He was only ever seen alone never with any companions. he was two beautiful well match tusks. Put down after poacher had shot him.
Mafunyane- Aggressive bull didn't like to be in contact with humans. Both his tusks were same length, width and weight. And the pair bumped along the ground when he walked. Shortest of the seven with a height of 327cm
Ndlulamithi- the great bull "meaning taller than trees" in Tsonga having a height of at least 345cm. A very aggressive and wild elephant. One of his tusks stond out in front whilst another swept low.
Shawu- The great Shawu being a large bull of around 340cm of height and had the longest tusks in history of southern africa. Often referred to 'Groot Haaktand' (Big Hook Teeth)
Shingwedzi- perfect example of master and servant tusk as the left tusk was significantly larger than the right. Known as a gentle giant used to having tourists around.
Just open to having questions or comments.
