The Pinocchio lizard, a species of anole, was once thought to be extinct, but has been rediscovered in Ecuador. The male has an elongated nose like Pinocchio (a picture of one is with the article).

Realy and odd looking lizard but I'm quite sure some Anole-freaks found it already several years ago and published about it -I'm however not sure in which magazine but I'll try to locate it.

Indeed! But not the only Anolis with strange nasal projections. There's also the Leaf-nosed Anole A. phyllorhinus. It would be nice to see zoos exhibiting some of these iguanid oddities.
