Chester Zoo The Secret Life of Chester Zoo

Just finished watching it and thoroughly enjoyed it! Highlights for me were the jewel wasps and red river hogs.

Interesting to see more uncommon and 'less likeable' species in a premier. Could have played it safe by just showing lions, tigers and penguins to grip the average viewer. Although, they seem set to steal the show next week :p

Can we just have a moment of silence for Carl too...

And next week we can see ... Penguins!

'Cos we haven't seen them much in previous series ...

Seriously, I thought last night's was a particularly good one.

Who doesn't love penguins? I can't wait to see them again considering they are off show currently.

Yes, I am more looking foward to the more interesting species but I can't resist penguins. My profile picture is actually Rud who is the oldest penguin at Chester I believe.

Well I rather enjoyed tonight's episode, glad it wasn't as penguin heavy as I first expected! The mandrill story line was very interesting, tigers were a little meh this time around. I won't lie to you the Red panda part did upset me but that's life and this stuff happens. I hope that the zoo obtain a new male soon.

Will not lie, I nearly cried at Jung dying. Only death I cried for so far was Pedro. The mandrills were definitley the highlight as we got to learn a lot more about them and Ludo and Jareth were being quite literal cheeky monkeys! I enjoyed the penguin part as we got to see how the chicks had got on. Also I think the teaser for next episode confirmed that the baby andean bear is a female!!

I'm glad I didn't visit this thread last night; just watching it now.
On my last visit two weeks ago, a couple mentioned never seeing the Red Pandas in the many years they'd been visiting. I simply suggested they persisted in trying throughout the day and on passing later myself, saw they had been lucky as Nima was having a look around from the hole in the 'tree'
