The zoo connection

I count any collection of animals open to the public as a ‘zoo’, I’m sure there are those that agree with me and those that don’t. But that has been covered many times on zoochat.
But what happens when things get more interesting? For example, do two institutions with separate admission, with the same ownership, on the same land, count as two separate zoos (eg. Berlin zoo and aquarium, the WRS parks)? It really is a tough question, and could cause much debate, but if your answer would be yes, then what about gorilla forest at bronx and similar exhibits, they have separate admission, have the same ownership, and are on the same land, but is never classed as a separate institution, and rightly so in my opinion. But the WRS parks in Singapore are usually classed as separate zoos, as I do also, but they meet those same requirements. If your answer is no, then what about places like Plzen zoo and AkvaTera, they have the same ownership and separate admission, but are on separate land, are they separate zoos, or not?
Then it gets deeper. Zoos on separate land with separate ownership are obviously separate zoos, but what about zoos with separate ownership, separate admission, and on the same land (eg. National botanic garden of Wales and the national bird of prey centre, or Askham Bryan wildlife centre and York falconry centre)?
What are your thoughts? Feel free to leave your responses. I honestly don’t even know my thoughts on most of these questions so it would be great to hear someone else’s opinion.
