A rare species of catfish only ever found in a small section of Big Darby Creek has swam its last stream.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service this week declared extinct the Scioto madtom, a nocturnal, earthy-colored fish measuring just over two inches long, proposing it be delisted from the federal Endangered Species Act.

I shared this article in a Facebook group I belong to, and one person when commenting had this to say;

"What good does it do to have a endangered species act, if it doesn't protect the Endangered Species? Pollution and agricultural run off indeed."

Unfortunately he brings up good points.
