Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens Thrigby Saltwater Crocodiles

Considering Thrigby is an Asian-based collection, are there any plans to move the American Alligators out of the collection and replace with an Asian species: Siamese Crocodile, False gharial, or Gharial ?

I would love to see these species in the Swamp House, concentrating on just a small number of potential pairs in breeding situations. I don't really see the point of large numbers of alligators now that Amazona zoo is open. Or is all their space taken up by caiman?

I've been to Thrigby a few times over the years and I personally think they're Alligater exhibit is one of the best I've seen. I mean its the only 1 where if your not carefull you'd fall in!

To the best of my knowledge they have no plans to move the American Alligators as they are not just a South East Asian specialist collection theyare also a specialist Crocodilian collection, last i heard they had no plans to bring in any new species for the moment.

Fraid so but they are still growing so 1 day we will have 1 over 10 foot.

I saw a male Salty here in Feb at the Currumbin wildlife park (the biggest I have seen) that was as big as a large horse his keeper told us he weighed over a ton, even it's legs looked like tree trunks :D
