Capuchin exhibit now occupied by a flock of half meter tall chickens.
Florida Soft-shell unseen and unsigned so I presumed also deceased.
The collection takes around an hour to tour, with the max I see someone staying here around 2 and a half which was how long I stayed.

Whoops, wqas writing all this at 4am so came out a bit sloppy, I retract the last bit of the statement, but being in there when it's quiet is good as you're more likely to see arguably the best species in the collection, robust skink.

Haven't for a while. I believe the galapagos tortoise being held there was one of the males from Auckland Zoo.

Haven't for a while. I believe the galapagos tortoise being held there was one of the males from Auckland Zoo.

That was Auckland’s non breeding male (Willy). He was returned as the zoo now has the room to house both males and his presence encourages the breeding male (Smiley) to mate with the females:

The redevelopment of our tortoise enclosure two years ago provided us with a fantastic and much larger climate-controlled indoor area and the capacity to hold two males separately, enabling us to welcome back our second male Willy from Ti Point Reptile Park.

Willy’s return has most certainly been a great stimulant to Smiley as a male competitor, and we hope to see increasing success with higher rates of fertility among future clutches.
