Indian rhinos have been talked about extensively here.
The zoo HAS a breeding pair and the female is due to calve next year.

you know what he Toronto zoo should get, a herd of Wildebeest in s Savannah outside exhibit. now that would be cool!
also have koalas in the Australasia pavilion :D

Toronto Zoo used to have Koalas in the Malayan Woods Pavilion before it was renovated. And then again in the Australasia Pavillion where the red Kangaroo is now.
The zoo also used a relative of the Wildebeest, the White Tailed Gnu, in the exhibit that now features our Male Zebra, Shaka, on the way to the Canadian Domain.

man the Toronto zoo needs to get more animals that the public knows and loves.
they need to bet the San Deigo zoo!
we can do it!

FYI, a new female tapir arrived last week - she's currently in quarantine.

That is great to hear Ungulate, do you know where she came from? Last I remember the plan was to bring in a female from the Bronx Zoo. Hopefully she and Tanuck get along well and produce some offspring

Also, where would Tanuck go if they did have a calf? Is there enough space to hold 3 animals which can't be housed together (especially in the winter) ?

How old this current male?

What age is the immigrant female (NY Bronx presently maintains 1.2 Malayans)?
