Are there any trogons kept anywhere?

We saw a couple in Costa Rica and they were very attractive. Unfortunately the resplendent quetzal was hiding though!

Not at all. There's a few around, but they seem to be decreasing.

Looking at that list, there are one or two on show at Zurich Zoo. I don't recall seeing these on my last visit there (last sumer). Any idea where they are displayed?

Sorry for dragging this off topic a bit, but what species did you see in Costa Rica? When I went there were a couple of violaceous trogons around, and the quetzals eluded me too.

We saw violaceous too, and slatey tailed. At the place with hanging bridges, near Arenal. We had a fantastic guide there, really enthusiastic. People just wandering around on their own really missed out, unless you already know what you're looking for/at.

This isn't in Europe but the Dallas World Aquarium has White-tailed Trogons and Golden-headed Quetzals. I think they used to have Black-tailed Trogons as well. Haven't seen any of them there though.
