I take the blame in this lol. I contacted a spokesperson from the zoo and they said their next major exhibit would be Alaskan themed for sea otters. It might have been put on hold though for the new director. This was over a year ago.

The Alaskan exhibit at Omaha has been mentioned in the past by soon to be retired director Dennis Pate. Polar bear, grizzly bear, sea otter and Canadian lynx were all mentioned as possible species for the project. While things could always change, considering there’s a four acre slice of land adjacent to the existing Glacier Bay plaza and sea lion exhibit, it will likely still be on the docket with the new director. However, from what I’ve heard through the grapevine, the next major project will not be an Alaska complex.
What may be the next project for them?
Not something I want to discuss publicly at the moment, although I imagine an announcement from the zoo will be imminent.
Any idea where they have this going? I know they have stated the next area to get a major remodel is Primate World, is this replacing that perhaps?

Lehigh Valley Zoo will be creating a new 1,600 sq. foot indoor and outdoor enclosure for their Mongoose Lemurs and Leopard Tortoises dubbed Habitat Madagascar which I believe will open next year.

It'll actually be leopard tortoises in with the lemurs, not African spurred tortoises.
