Zoo Miami's New Arrivals Are Real Pigs - cbs4.com
Zoo Miami has a couple of new residents and boy are they real pigs! Seriously, they're Visayan Warty piglets. The two male piglets were born on July 6th to a first time one-year-old mother.

They won't go on public display for another two weeks so they can have time to adjust to their environment and establish a strong bond with their mother. Every newborn needs that!

The Visayan Warty Pig is one of the world's most critically endangered species of wild pig. It is found on only two islands in the central Philippines where the populations are small and fragmented. Warty pigs are extinct on four other islands that originally were part of their natural range. They are a relatively small pig that is threatened by habitat destruction, food shortages and hunting.

Due to the small numbers of remaining Visayan Warty Pigs in the wild, little is known of their behaviors or characteristics outside of captivity.
