Twycross Zoo Vision Statement 2010

wycross have been on the decline for some time.

...during which time, Mr Ray was in a senior position within the zoo.

Certainly wouldn't want to get into a debate on his merits (or otherwise) but when an organisation is in a state of stasis, as Twycross has been, sometimes the decks do need to be cleared.

Is a curator not the person responsible for the ways in which animal populations are managed within a zoo? is it generally perceived that Twycross's populations of animals have been well managed over the past 20 years?

I doubt Mr Ray would be able to do his job properly, with what I can imagine bullying daily by the 'tyrant'. It was her way or out!

Sooty, much as I like and enjoy your posts, you do sometimes have a tendency to over-do the role of devil's advocate.:)

People who know Twycross better than you or I seem pretty sure that Twycross fifteen years ago was a place which might have stagnated but possessed a large number of dedicated and experienced staff, and ample funds in the bank.

If Molly Badham's successor - whom I suspect was brought into place later than was wise - had treated these assets with more humility and respect the place would be a great deal more secure than it seems to be.
