Hi There,

Just trying to get to the bottom of a claim made by a friend of mine...

He told me that when he was a child he saw Shamu the whale at Cotswold wildlife park, before he was big in the USA. Now this would have been approximately 15 years ago, does anyone know if this is true or if there could have been a killer whale ever held here?

Many thanks

As Al has already said its a total Lie,but one that made me laugh so much I fell off the chair.

Cotswold Wildlife Park...

The only place they could have put a Killer Whale is in the lake, where it would have eaten all the ducks, and anyway, they never had one.

The first Shamu...(of which there have been a few) was wild caught in the mid 60's, while as Alan has pointed out above it could be a case of mistaken location but but Nemo died in the late 80's and Winnie left the collection in the early 90's

Oh and the original Shamu was a female, she was going to a companion animal for an orca called Namu at an aquarium in Seattle the sh of she and amu of Namu = Shamu

Please feel free to tell your friend he's talking bol....... ahem cobblers!
